After one of the most devastating storms to ever sweep across our country Wendy and Tony are reaching out to help. Wendy states ” I recently toured the tornado damage in my home state of Alabama and was left devastated by the damage this storm had caused. As I drove through Pleasant Grove, all I wanted was to be able to take the hurt away from many that had lost everything even their loved ones. I was especially moved by a message spray painted on a wall of one of the few houses that had anything still standing. It simply read ” WE LIVED“. I couldn’t help but think of all of the spiritual storms that we all face that try to destroy us but, with God, “WE LIVE“

Wendy Word + forgiven Moving To Nashville

{EHA-Nashville, TN} Wendy Word + forgiven announces today their move to Nashville, TN. The popular duet, who has been multi-nominated in the Diamond Awards, and says they have been praying for the right opportunity to take their music ministry to a more central location. “We are so glad the Lord opened up this door for us to make a permanent move to Nashville” says Wendy. “He never lets us down but just keeps on pouring his blessings out on our music ministry.” Wendy’s songs have been enjoyed for many years on radio. Her full-time singing career began when she was 8 years old, as she traveled the road with her family in her hometown near Birmingham, Alabama. Tony and Wendy have been at the top of Christian Country charts, and last year her song, “What’s Wrong with Doing Right,” peaked at # 57 in Singing News. The song was a top 40 song of the year on the Southern Gospel Times. Her fans spoke loudly this year, as she quickly landed in the top 5 for Female Country Artist in the 2011 Diamond Awards that will be handed out at Branson Gospel Music Revival the 1st week of July. {EHA-Nashville, TN} Wendy and Tony Word have experienced much success with their latest single release, “What’s Wrong with Doing Right, ” and fans in the Louisville, Ky area are looking forward to their appearance in the Feb. 19th Winter Fest Gospel concert at Gethsemane Baptist Church. The concert is a joint promotion between EHA-Nashville and Louisville based, Eyewitness.

Wendy and Tony’s single was released on the Crossroads March Sampler and peaked at #49 on the Singing News charts in August. The popular duet, Wendy Word + forgiven, has garnered nominations and exposure from GMA Dove Awards, Diamond Awards, and other Christian Country and Southern Gospel outlets and charts.

Wendy’s heart for the ministry and her mission to “encourage people to just do the right thing,” was the driving force for her inspiration to write the popular single that has made its way to the speakers of airport terminals across the country. This dynamic duo proved to be fan favorites in the 2010 Diamond Awards, with final positions in three categories: Duet of the Year, Christian Country Group of the Year, and Female Artist of the Year (for Wendy’s contributions in Christian Country.)

Wendy Word’s Mother Hospitalized

{Birmingham, AL, 5/27/10} EHA-Nashville has just learned that the mother of Wendy Word of Wendy Word + forgiven has been hospitalized in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham, AL. She has undergone eight biopsies and is waiting on word from the doctors. Wendy states, “We know God is going to be who He says He is during this time.” We will get an update out as soon as we know more.”

{Nashville,TN-EHA-Nashville} Christian Country and Southern Gospel duet, Wendy Word + forgiven has a heart for ministry, that doesn’t only involve their award-winning music. The duet, consisting of Wendy and her husband Tony, felt the urgency this month to sponsor a mission to the devastation in Haiti. The orphaned children were a great concern for the Word’s, and after prayer and direction, the mission was accomplished through their sponsorship. Wendy notes, “I hope that the prayers for these children will continue. One of the children was badly abused; his name is Junior. His mother beat him with the handle of a knife in the back of his head so badly that his skull is deformed.We hope and pray that these children are not forgotten and that missions of this type will help many more of the tens of thousands of children suffering there. The natural disaster in Haiti could not be helped but the added calamity of child abuse can be with missions of this type.”
